Poornima Ravi was born in Vellore and finished her schooling at Shrishti Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vellore. And college at VIT University, Vellore, as a graduate of BE. From her school days, she was teased about mean things about her dark skin and bullied for that. She used to cry every time when people mocked her. She felt bad about it and went down. She decided to run a dance class to save pocket money, as she knew dancing since her childhood. 

She always wished to be a part of a dance team in her college as she dances extremely well. Like her wish, she went and danced on the first row, but due to her dark skin, she mocked her for her skin tone and pushed her back to the last row. From there she decided to come out from this stereotype about skin tone and prove them wrong.

While studying she got placed in a campus interview for Cognizant Company, so she had a chance to work in Chennai. She worked and managed to act for youtube channels on her weekend. She had balanced work and acting. She got a salary of Rs.25,000 from the company.  While her family was going down because of her brother’s unemployment, her Sister’s pregnancy, and her education loan. 

She was approached for a shoot in Madurai for Rs. 40,000 a month. She decided to take that offer by thinking of her crisis. Initially, she was hiding this from her family but then she was thrown out from that channel for some reason.

When Poornima Ravi was working at Cognizant in Chennai, She was invited to film in Madurai with a salary of Rs 40,000 per month. She decided to accept this offer while thinking about her crisis. At first, she hid this from her family, but then for some reason, she was kicked out of the channel. She collapsed initially but another youtube channel hired her. 

While she was working on that channel, they decided to create a female-centric channel. They were on the search for a female lead artist, meanwhile, the spotlight was hit on Poornima Ravi. Then they started filming her under a youtube channel named Araathi, she did all the roles as a single person. Suddenly the video she acted in reached up to million views and reached 1 lakh subscribers. She got an immense response from viewers.

 There she gradually went higher and got famous in front of popular youtube artists. She gained her most popularity in a concept named Murai Maman in which she acted along with her team member Madhan. She has only a little team, but she claims that they are pillars of her popularity.
